Research program

Dr. Lise Gauvin. is a researcher in lifestyle and health in urban areas. His research program is to understand and evaluate interventions to promote health and prevent chronic diseases. In partnership with researchers from various disciplines and with the Direction de santé publique de l’Agence de la santé et des services sociaux de Montréal, the research aims to improve understanding of the influence of neighbourhood on population lifestyles. Specifically, is to study the characteristics of neighbourhoods, that is, to look at two aspects of the built environment by defining the characteristics likely to influence lifestyle habits, and by targeting characteristics that could be the object of public health interventions to determine their impacts on population health.  In particular, Dr. Gauvin studies the effects of socio-environmental determinants on the eating behaviours, level of physical activity and health status of the population using quantitative and qualitative methods.
