Lise Gauvin PhD is full professor in the department of social and preventive medicine at School of Public Health at Université de Montréal. She is also researcher and "Risks to Health" Theme Leader  at the research centre of the Centre Hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CRCHUM) and associate researcher at  the Léa-Roback  Centre on Social  Inequalities of Health. She completed her doctoral work in physical activity sciences at Université de Montréal in 1985. She has held positions at Queen’s University, Concordia University and, more recently, at Université de Montréal. Her research focuses on socio-environmental determinants of involvement in physical activity, interventions to promote physical activity in the population, and  social determinants of disordered eating behaviours. Her work draws upon innovative quantitative and epidemiologic methods including multilevel modeling methods, ecometrics, and ecological momentary assessment. In addition to publishing her work in peer-review scientific journals, she actively participates in knowledge transfer and exchange activities.
